The rice farmers (pictured) call themselves “Kila Siku Kazi Group” at Sanga Village, Simiyu Region of Tanzania. The Swahili words loosely translate to ‘Every day is a working day’, underscoring their commitment to improving their livelihood through farming as a business.
According to the group chairman, Mr Baleli James Chongela, the #AGRA supported CARI – EA project introduced to them by Busega Mazao Ltd has gone a long way in changing their fortunes. “We are enjoying improved productivity and assured market,” he says.
