ID Water, a Taiwan-based organization dedicated to sustainable water and ecosystem restoration, invites qualified NGOs to submit proposals for the Keta Lagoon Blue Carbon Mangrove Restoration & Conservation Project in Ghana.
This initiative aims to restore 10,000 hectares of degraded wetlands through mangrove planting, biodiversity enhancement, and community engagement. The selected NGO will be responsible for implementing restoration activities, local collaboration, and long-term monitoring. Proposals should demonstrate technical experience, community-based approaches, and the capacity to deliver impactful results over a 20-year horizon.
Project Objective
- Restore degraded mangrove ecosystems in Keta Lagoon
- Strengthen coastal protection and involve communities in conservation
- Monitor ecological impact over a 30-year period
Scope of Work
The selected NGO will:
- Conduct assessments in priority zones
- Plant and maintain 10,000 hectares of mangroves over 5–7 years
- Run community programs and awareness campaigns
- Set up monitoring systems and collaborate with local stakeholders
Eligibility
NGOs must:
- Be legally registered in Ghana
- Have experience in mangrove or wetland restoration
- Show community involvement, technical expertise, and operational stability
- Provide records of past projects and have a strong local reputation
