ShEquity is pleased to announce the launch of the ShEquity Technical Assistance (TA) Facility in Ghana, a new initiative designed to de-risk gender-smart green SMEs and support their access to global carbon markets. The Facility is delivered in partnership with the Agency for Business & Economic Development (AWE) and Greentec Capital Africa Foundation.

Technical Assistance (TA) Facility Programm | ShEquityThis initiative provides hands-on coaching, expert mentorship, catalytic funding and practical tools that help founders strengthen operational performance, understand and navigate the complexities of carbon markets, and position their businesses for future investment and growth.

Benefits 

The program will provide tailored technical assistance and expert coaching on investment readiness and accessing carbon markets, produce opportunity maps and support development of Project Design Documents. The program will provide networking and visibility opportunities and also provide catalytic grants to some SMEs to start the carbon certification process.

Eligibility 

Eligible SMEs must meet the following criteria;

  • Be gender-smart climate-focused SMEs operating in sectors such as renewable energy, clean cooking, clean mobility, circular economy and waste valorisation, sustainable agriculture and agro-processing, nature-based solutions. Priority will be given to entities aligned with 2X challenge criteria and that are women-owned or women-led ● Be legally registered and authorized to operate in Ghana as a for-profit company
  • Has been in operations for at least three years
  • Has a positive social and environmental impact
  • Has a positive carbon emission impact
  • Has an innovative business model, product or service
  • Has an annual turnover of between $50,000 and $500,000
  • Employs at least 5 staff. Priority will be given to entities with a gender diverse team.
  • The management team commits to participate actively in the program for the full 20-week period
