Anticipatory Action is Helping Rural Families to Overcome Drought in Somalia

With the generous funding of UN CERF, FAO supported 2,500 drought-affected rural farming households to address acute food insecurity in rural areas and get back into production while contributing to mitigate further displacement by helping people to stay productive within rural areas, and lay the groundwork for future recovery. FAO supported riverine households in Dolow and Kismayo districts with 20 Kgs maize, 10 Kgs cowpea, 12 Kgs mung bean, 8 assorted vegetable seeds, 100 kg Urea fertilizer, 2 tools and 30 storage bags.
