beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship

Deadline: 12th January 2025

Designed and implemented by The DO School Fellowships and funded by Mercedes-Benz, beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship launched in 2023 to equip thousands of young people around the world with the tools and resources to implement environmental projects for a sustainable planet.

beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz FellowshipRegardless of your background, this fellowship provides you with the training, mentoring, and resources necessary to bring your planet-positive projects to life.

As a participant, youโ€™ll embark on a multi-year Fellowship journey, starting with a 12-month intensive, fully-funded program that equips you with the skills, resources and connections to bring an eco-innovation idea to reality. You receive award-winning innovation training through online modules, community-based Local Hub gatherings, a Regional Summit, regular access to venture coaches, 1:1 mentoring, and expert and peer support to help you achieve your environmental leadership and project goals. At the end of the first year, you will be able to access project scholarships to advance your projectโ€™s development.

Years 2 and 3 of our fellowship programming expand on the first 12 months through tailored support based on your project stage. If your project stage is advanced enough in year 2, you can access our Pioneer Launchpad, a program that equips you for greater venture independence; if you are still refining your project, you can access online and in-person venture learning, leadership development, and network building opportunities. At the end of the second year, fellows at the appropriate stage have another opportunity to access project scholarships and join the Pioneer Launchpad. Those who have already completed the Launchpad are exposed to new opportunities to continue building their projects and planet-positive work.

Financial Support

You may qualify for financial support and be supported during the first 12-months if you are consideredย economically disadvantaged. Our definition of this is based on guidelines from the World Bankโ€™s Poverty and Inequality Platform (PIP), which divides countries into four income groups and sets poverty lines.

At beVisioneers, you can qualify for financial support if
1.ย Your incomeย is below theย average income in your country, OR
2. Theย average income in your countryย is lower than the poverty line, based on the World Bankโ€™s standards.

If this describes your situationย ANDย you haveย completed the application for financial support described below, you can receive assistance to help improve your fellowship experience.

Weโ€™re here to make sure that everyone can participate fully in the fellowship!

Types of Financial Support

There are 2 types of financial support that you have the option to apply for

1.ย Financial support forย LIVINGย COSTS

  • This support covers a basic income equivalent to 24 hours of work, adjusted to the cost of living in your country
  • It also includes funds for local transportation to attend in-person meet-ups

2.ย Financial support forย ONLINEย ACCESS

  • This support helps cover costs for internet access and technical equipment
  • It ensures you have what you need to participate in the virtual aspects of the program
  • You can use these funds for things like internet data, cables, electricity, a laptop, or repairs
  • Note:ย It isย IMPORTANTย to agree to the terms of acceptance of this type of financial support โ€“ You must upload receipts to verify your purchases

You can choose to receive only theย Financial support forย LIVINGย COSTSย or bothย LIVINGย COSTSย andย ONLINEย ACCESSย support.

All financial support amounts are adjusted based on the purchasing power/cost of living in your country. If you successfully apply for financial support and are accepted into the fellowship program, you will receive monthly payments directly to your bank account.
