The Mitigation Action Facility (MAF) invites ambitious climate mitigation project proposals under its Call for Projects 2026. The facility provides climate finance and technical support to implement transformational mitigation projects that enable partner countries to achieve their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and long-term decarbonisation strategies across priority sectors.

Funding
  • Competitive funding available for implementation of selected mitigation projects, ranging from €5 million to €25 million per project
  • Overall call has an estimated funding volume of approximately €100 million
Eligibility
  •  Applicants include national ministries, governmental agencies, NGOs, INGOs, development banks, private financial institutions, commercial entities, and foundations
  • Projects must be country-driven, align with a partner country’s NDC, and demonstrate readiness for implementation
  • Eligible projects combine policy/regulatory reform and financial mechanisms with a clear strategy to mobilise additional investment
Project Duration
  • Projects typically run 36 to 66 months
Eligible Countries
Projects are implemented in partner countries listed on the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list of developing countries.
