The Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana has extended warm congratulations to His Excellency President Romuald Wadagni on his inauguration as President of the Republic of Benin, describing the moment as a defining milestone for democratic leadership and a “new dawn” for Africa.
In an official congratulatory statement issued by the Founder, President and CEO of the Chamber, Anthony Selorm Kofituo Morrison, the organisation commended President Wadagni’s rise to office, highlighting his leadership journey, professional excellence, and commitment to public service.
The statement noted that President Wadagni’s inauguration represents not only a national transition but also a broader signal of generational leadership renewal across Africa. It described his assumption of office as a symbol of “vision, competence, courage, and commitment to country,” reflecting a new era where leadership is increasingly defined by capability and impact rather than age alone.
According to the Chamber, Africa’s growing youth population—projected to constitute a significant share of the global workforce by 2050 requires bold leadership that prioritises job creation, skills development, and inclusive economic transformation.
The statement further praised ongoing development efforts in Benin, noting its economic progress and strategic positioning within West Africa. It highlighted Benin’s role as a gateway for trade, agriculture, investment, and innovation, and expressed confidence that under President Wadagni’s leadership, the country will continue strengthening its regional and continental influence.
The Chamber also emphasized the importance of deepening collaboration between Ghana and Benin, particularly in agribusiness, agro-industrialisation, food systems transformation, agricultural trade, logistics, youth enterprise development, and value chain integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
It stressed that such partnerships are essential for advancing food security, industrial growth, and sustainable economic development across West Africa.
“Benin has long been a symbol of democratic resilience, enterprise, and regional connectivity. Under your leadership, we are confident the nation will strengthen its position as a strategic gateway for trade, agriculture, investment, and innovation,” the statement said.
The Chamber reaffirmed its commitment to supporting regional cooperation and private sector-driven growth, noting that agribusiness remains a key driver of Africa’s transformation agenda.
It concluded by expressing optimism that President Wadagni’s tenure will be guided by wisdom, courage, humility, and a bold vision for inclusive development.
“May your presidency bring peace to communities, unlock opportunity for youth, deepen prosperity, and strengthen democracy. Long live the Republic of Benin. Long live African democracy. Long live a new generation of African leadership,” the statement added.
The message was signed by Anthony Selorm Kofituo Morrison, Founder, President and CEO of the Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana.
