Dream village set to unlock Oti agricultural tourism

Dream village, a pioneering agricultural tourism initiative, is poised to unlock the vast potential of the Oti Region. 

Mr. Clement Matorwmasen, founder and director of Dream Village and Green Gold, said dream village was a thriving agricultural community that offered a unique blend of agricultural education, tourism and community development.

He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the village was set amidst a picturesque landscape of rolling verdant forest and sparkling waterways, making it an ideal destination for tourists seeking an authentic agricultural experience.

He told GNA that Dream village offered a range of agricultural tourism activities, including farm tours, agricultural workshops and community-based tourism initiatives, adding that visitors could participate in farm-to-table experience, learn about traditional farming practice and engage with local communities.

The initiative is expected to create jobs, stimulate local economy growth and promote cultural exchange between local communities and tourists, “We believe that agricultural tourism has the potential to transform the economic fortunes of the Oti Region, and we are committed to making Dream Village a flagship project for agricultural tourism in Ghana,” Mr Matorwmasen added.

Meanwhile, a visiting international volunteer has pledged to support Dream Village, a pioneering agricultural tourism project in Oti Region.

Ms. Bowie Yin Sum Kung, a Hong Kong-based writer and business consultant, who recently spent time at Dream Village, where she was impressed by the project’s founder, Mr Matorwmasen’s dedication to serving the community.

In an interview with the GNA, Ms Kung described Dream Village as a “true gem” that is making a profound impact on the community and praised the staff’s dedication and passion, saying they are “inspiring.”

“I was inspired by Matorwmasen’s versatility and commitment. I wanted to support him in any way possible, so I offered to write an article about Dream Village to increase its International exposure,” Ms Kung added.

Ms Kung also offered to assist with digital tasks, such as newsletters to free up Matorwmasen’s time and allow him to focus on his work with the community.
