Generation of Environmental Leaders ProgramThe 2024 GELP, hosted by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation, invites passionate North American youth aged 18-35 to submit innovative solutions to support North American communities and preserve our shared waters, lands and air. Join this pivotal opportunity to lead change and shape the narrative for a sustainable tomorrow in your communities!

  • SEED-FUNDING Receive C$15,000 in seed funding to develop an impactful solution and support your community in shaping a sustainable tomorrow!
  • NETWORKING Be the voice of change and present your solution to North America’s top environmental officials at the CEC Council Session! Participate in national, regional, and international conferences and share your knowledge andskills.

Eligibility

  • Open to participants aged 18-35 residing in Canada, Mexico, or the United States.
  • Teams such as, but not exclusively, youth-led organizations, youth-led associations, nongovernmental organizations, and not-for-profit youth-led organizations, teams of youth innovators, or entrepreneurs interested in building their businesses.
  • Demonstrate how your solution channels a strong impact on communities and facilitates substantial long-term sustainability.
  • Demonstrate how your solution addresses critical issues related to support North American communities and preserve our shared waters, lands and air.

Judging criteria

  • Impact and Community Engagement (40%)
  • Feasibility (25%)
  • Alignment with the CEC’s strategic pillars and the program theme (15%)
  • Identification of problem/issue (10%)
  • Innovation (10%)

Application Process

Participants must submit their solution in Foundant.

All submissions must include the following information for the team representative and for an additional team member:

• Full name (as it appears in their passport)

• Email address

• Current city and country of residence

• Date of birth

All submissions must be completed by filling out every section of the online form.
