Ghana’s PureLube shines at Africa Food Systems Forum, secures US$15,000 PrizeCo-founded by Fareeda Mustapha, PureLube is pioneering the transformation of agricultural waste, particularly cashew nut shells, into eco-friendly lubricants that support farm machinery, reduce import dependency, and create local jobs. This innovation stood out on the continental stage at the AFS Forum in Dakar, Senegal, where PureLube was celebrated for its sustainable impact on Africa’s agrifood sector.

As part of the recognition, PureLube received a US$15,000 grant to expand operations and scale its production capacity. Fareeda described the experience as life-changing, emphasizing that the KIC Incubation Program has equipped her to position PureLube competitively and secure global recognition.

Benjamin Gyan-Kesse, Executive Director of KIC, congratulated the team, stating: “PureLube’s journey is a shining example of how innovation and resilience can drive impact. Their work demonstrates the value of turning agricultural waste into solutions that benefit farmers, create jobs, and build sustainable agribusiness models.”

As an organisation, KIC continues to support and empower young entrepreneurs, working in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation under the Initiative for Youth in Agricultural Transformation ( IYAT).
