The KGL Foundation Legacy Project Fund supports high-impact, sustainable initiatives across Ghana. The Fund finances capital-intensive infrastructure, essential equipment procurement, and community development projects that drive socio-economic growth across key developmental sectors.
Target Areas & Funding Categories
Applicants may request funding support under two primary categories:
Category A: Infrastructure & Capital-Intensive Projects
- Education & Digital Access: Construction/renovation of schools, ICT centres, and community libraries.
- Health & Sanitation: Construction of health facilities and installation of water projects (boreholes).
- Skills & Livelihoods: Skills and entrepreneurship training hubs.
- Environment & Community: Environmental sustainability initiatives, renewable energy installations (e.g., solar systems), and disaster relief infrastructure.
Category B: Essential Equipment & Material Support
- Healthcare Facilities: Essential medical devices and health equipment.
- Education & Sports: Educational, developmental, and sports equipment.
- Agriculture & Vocational: Vocational tools, agricultural machinery, and specialized community equipment.
- Emergency & Relief: Specialized relief supply kits and emergency response equipment.
Eligibility
To be eligible for funding under the Legacy Project Fund, applicant organizations must meet the following criteria:
- Legal Standing: Be a legally registered entity (Sole Proprietorship or Non-Governmental Organization) operating in Ghana.
- Community Alignment: The project must directly serve an identified community within a specific District and Region in Ghana.
- Institutional Backing: Must provide an endorsement from a recognized local authority or governing body.
 Mandatory Submission Checklist
All applications must be submitted through the official KGL Foundation Online Portal. Please prepare the following documents prior to beginning your online submission:
- Entity Registration: Official Company/NGO Registration Certificate
- Technical Documentation:
- Comprehensive Concept Note / Technical Proposal detailing scope, objectives, and implementation timelines.
- Clear project location details (District and Region of implementation).
- Financial Documentation: Itemized Financial Proposal / Budget prepared using the official KGL Approved Budget Template (downloadable from the Foundation’s Legacy Project tab under the Grants page).
- Institutional Recommendation Letter: A formal recommendation letter from at least one (1) of the following:
- Metropolitan, Municipal, or District Assembly (MMDA)
- Regional or District Health Administration
- Registered NGO or Religious Organization
- Local Financial Institution/Bank
- Office of the Member of Parliament
- Sustainability & Maintenance Plan: Required for all physical infrastructure or machinery requests to detail post-funding operations.
