Kulturweit-incoming (German International Cultural Voluntary) Program for Young Africans (Fully Funded to Germany)

The German Commission for UNESCO invites women* from North Africa and the Middle East as well as young people from sub-Saharan Africa to stand up for culture and nature, education and sport in Germany for three months. During their time in Germany, all participants will receive financial support and will be accompanied in seminars. An important prerequisite is a good knowledge of German, at least B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

  • Organisation and implementation of the accompanying pedagogic programme.
  • Enrolment for and payment of travel health insurance, liability and accident insurance as well as German social securities.
  • Other programme expenses such as the payment of allowances and travel contributions, language class as well as room and board.

Eligibility

Who can participate in kulturweit-Incoming? 1. People from Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya, Madagascar, Namibia or Togo:– You live in one of these countries. This means that you have lived and resided in one of these countries for at least two years or have lived there for most of your life.

– You must be of legal age at least three months before the start of the internship (by 26.05.2024).

– All genders and all people who are of legal age can participate (there is no maximum age).

2. Women* from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco or Tunisia: – You live in one of these countries. This means that you have lived and resided in one of these countries for at least two years or have lived there for most of your life.

– You must be of legal age no later than three months before the start of the internship (by 26.05.2024),

– You must not be more than 30 years old (you must not turn 31 during the stay),

– You should define yourself as a “woman” or be defined by society (the project is also open to inter*, trans* and non-binary people) What are the requirements for my participation? – Good knowledge of German at level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages,

– a valid passport to apply for a Schengen visa. You can find more information at www.diplo.de or on the website of the German embassy in your country,

– Desire to volunteer in the fields of culture, nature, education or sports.

– 38.5 to 40 hours a week at the job site,

– Curiosity, openness, independence and a sense of responsibility,

– Enjoyment of project and team work, – Interest in culture, education and UNESCO issues in Germany. Until when can I apply? The application deadline is March 10, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. (CET).
