The Moremi Initiative for Women’s Leadership in Africa (MILEAD) is inviting applications from exceptional young African women for the 2026 MILEAD Fellows Program- a paradigm shifting leadership initiative dedicated to identifying and nurturing Africa’s next generation of bold, visionary female leaders.
The MILEAD Program is a transformational, long-term leadership development fellowship designed to equip young African women with:
- World-class leadership training
- Transformational skills and tools
- A lifelong support network
- Values and strategies needed to excel as 21st-century leaders
The program seeks dynamic young women who are passionate about addressing the most urgent issues affecting women and girls across Africa.
Eligibility:
- African women aged 19–25
- Living in Africa or in the Diaspora
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Commitment to completing all program activities
- Commitment to implement a community change project
Program Highlights
- Three-week fully residential Summer Institute in Ghana
(mandatory, intensive leadership immersion) - One-year fellowship involving online learning, mentoring, and community-based action
- Fellows may continue to work or study full-time during the year, except during the Summer Institute
- 25 outstanding young women will be selected- from 25 countries.
