The Organic Waste-to-Value Initiative (OWTVI) is a 3-year project focusing on job creation in the organic waste management sector in and around Nsawam. The project is executed by Centre for Enterprise Learning, as a develoPPP project in partnership with GIZ, and MDF West Africa.

Organic Waste-to-Value Initiative (OWTVI)In January 2024 the OWTVI will be starting three training programs for (potential) entrepreneurs in Nsawam. These three programs are an ideation, incubation and acceleration program including training days and coaching:

  • Three (3) months Ideation – This program (8 training days) includes developing ideas through problem-solving, innovation, and creativity. During ideation, individuals or teams will brainstorm and explore different business solutions to challenges to create new concepts, or innovative products and services.  You can also participate if you already have an idea. The goal is to have a prototype at the end of the program.
  • Three (3) months Incubation – This program (10 training days) supports starting entrepreneurs to (further) develop their business model and where needed formally register the business. This will be done through sessions on business development and market research to make the business more sustainable.
  • Six (6) months Acceleration – This program (15 training days) will focus on helping registered business grow.  The will done through sessions on market expansion, partnerships and access to finance such as loans and microfinance.

Participants can apply before or on November 15th 2023 by filling out this form. Selected applicants will receive emails by  December 20th 2023 with information for next steps. The Organic Waste-to-Value Initiative training program will start in January 2024 (Exact dates will be provided at a later time).
