The Nkabom Collaborative, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, McGill University, and the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, present Rural Micro-Enterprise Starter (RUMES).
RUMES is a 2-Day Fully Funded Short Course tailored for youth below 35 years of age who are already in or have the desire to start micro-businesses such as farmgate trading, agro-waste processing, fish farming, food vending, tailoring, welding, and other small businesses in rural and peri-urban communities.
The course also strongly encourages differently abled persons, underrepresented groups, internally displaced persons, and especially women to apply.
Course Modules include:
• Know your customer & sharpen your offer
• Costing, pricing & break-even
• Cash control & simple record keeping
• Social media marketing & promotions
• Quality, hygiene & simple SOPs
• Micro-compliance & basic tax
• Operations tuning: save time, cut waste
• Action plan, KPIs & mentorship system
