Through the FAO China South-South Cooperation Project, farmers like Shanta Dissanayake are seeing dramatic increases in mango, banana and pineapple yields by redirecting tree energy from leaves to fruit.

After establishing ten model farms and training over 2 000 farmers and technicians, this initiative is driving a 300 percent yield boost in pineapple and improving mango quality to 90 percent upper-medium grade, up from just 10 previously. From field to market, this project is unlocking Sri Lanka’s full potential in high-value tropical fruits.
