The USDA Food for Progress Program is accepting proposals to support agricultural development and food security in developing countries and emerging democracies.
The Food for Progress Program provides donations of U.S. agricultural commodities to developing countries and emerging democracies committed to introducing and expanding free enterprise in the agricultural sector. The commodities are sold on the local market, and the proceeds are used to support agricultural development activities.
Objectives:
- Increase agricultural productivity
- Expand agricultural trade
- Improve access to modern markets, technologies, and production inputs
Funding:
- Total program funding: approximately $208 million
- Individual awards: $5 million to $35 million
- No cost-sharing required
Eligibility:
- Government agencies
- Intergovernmental or private organizations
- NGOs
- Universities
- Cooperatives
- Other private sector partners involved in agricultural development
Priority Countries:
- Kenya
- Colombia
- Vietnam
- Ethiopia
