The AWF-Wall Leadership & Management Fellowship, run by the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) is a transformative 9 month leadership journey designed for young African professionals like you who are shaping conservation outcomes on the ground. Rooted in real-world practice, the Fellowship challenges you to deepen your leadership presence, sharpen your management skills, and think strategically about the impact you are building in the conservation space.

  • Travel and Transport: We cover your round-trip airfare and ground
    transport for the in-person workshop in Nairobi.
  • Accommodation & Sustenance: Comfortable lodging is provided for in-person workshops and the placement
  • Connectivity Support: A stipend for data bundles to keep you connected and engaged during virtual sessions.
  • Personalised Coaching: Ongoing coaching throughout the program to support you in delivering your innovation project.

Eligibility

  • African Nationals: Open to candidates from any African country who live and work on the continent.
  • Passion for Conservation: You’re deeply interested in biodiversity and environmental issues and are ready to drive change.
  • Age: Between 20-35 years old.
  • Language: You don’t need to be a native English speaker, but you should have basic English writing and speaking skills.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the environmental field, whether through work, volunteering, freelancing, or leading an initiative.
  • Fields of expertise include, but are not limited to, conservation biology, tourism, communications, enterprise development, finance, project management and more.
  • Education: At least a diploma in any field. Exceptional candidates with strong experience may be considered even without formal qualifications.
  • Community Empowerment: You are dedicated to uplifting the communities where you live and work, with a strong inclination towards supporting local initiatives.
  • Leadership Skills: You’ve demonstrated leadership abilities, whether through managing teams or leading projects.
  • Commitment: This program requires full dedication. You’ll need to:
    • Attend all training sessions
    • Be available to travel to in person workshop and engage in the
    mentorship process.
    • Complete your innovation project.
