Cocoa farmers in Boki, Etung, Ikom, Obubra, Obanliku, and Obudu, local government areas of the Cross River state of Nigeria, are benefiting from the programme.
The programme supports farmers to mitigate the root cause underlying several corporate sustainable risks, such as child labour, deforestation, and gender inequalities in the cocoa valuechain.
It is also aimed at improving the yield and income of cocoa farmers with good practices and access to new and sustainable technology.
The programme will further support income diversification activities of cocoa farmers and improve the economic role of women in the sector.
Solidaridad West Africa is implementing the Nigeria ResilienceCocoa Farmers’ Programme in partnership with Theobroma, Tulip Cocoa Processing Ltd, and Mars.
